The FOD 5418, 5419 Variable Optical
Attenuators are designed for singlemode application
at 1310 and 1550 nm (FOD 5418) or multimode application at 850 and 1310 nm (FOD
5419). They allow variable attenuation settings in
range from 0 to 90 dB with resolution 0.1 dB.
Verify the optical margins of newly
installed fiber spans, check power meter linearity
or receiver sensitivity.
The Attenuator provides equal insertion
loss and low reflectivity in both directions of transmission.
The Variable Optical Attenuators are powered by two
AA batteries and offer precision attenuation that
can also be operated by front panel local control
or remote PC control via RS-232 port.
